1. Stump-Go on a walk and try to observe a stump. Talk about what will grow from the stump. God’s people were very much like a stump, dead and unfruitful. In Jeremiah 23:5 God says He will raise up a righteous Branch, that is, good growth out of a dead stump.
2. Before and After-Make a list of what life is like without Jesus. Then make a second list of what life is like with Jesus. Compare and contrast these lists. Talk about how having Jesus in your life changes things. (See also Ephesians 2:11-22).
3. Plenty-Create a picture inspired by the feeding of the 5,000 and the notion that God provides plenty. (Some key things could be 5 loaves + 2 fishes; 5,000+ people; or 12 baskets full leftover) Talk about what God provides for you.
