Time Is Running Out

Revelation 14:6-7

How far will God go to get the message of His Son to the world? For most of the world’s history God has partnered with His human family and given them the responsibility of proclaiming the good news. While that is an amazing thing for which God should be thanked and praised, by the fourteenth chapter of Revelation, the clock is ticking. Time is running out.

We’ve all seen the airplanes flying overhead toting a banner with a message promoting a local business or perhaps even posing a “Will you marry me, Jeanette?” sentiment. (That name just popped into my head). Well in Revelation 14 God is using His “skywriter” in the form of an angelic  servant to make sure the message of His Son’s reconciling work gets to absolutely everyone: “Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people” (Rev. 14:6).

There is law and gospel. There is a call to fear the Lord and to worship. God is getting ready to let the judgment cat out of the bag and for those who have not received the good news, it will not end well. It will not end at all. Eternal punishment. Only woe.

God wants all people to be saved. He wants everyone to hear the gospel. Repent and believe!
