Just a quick note on this week’s gospel reading. Barrels of ink, no doubt, have been emptied writing comment on this account from the lips of our Lord. I won’t pretend to offer more, other than to say this: read the account as much as possible as if you had never read it. Then observe who it is who gives aid. It is the despised one who loves when all the professionals in the field of “loving” fail.
