Fourth Sunday in Advent: Gospel, Matthew 1:18-25               

Matthew 1:18-25

So, I haven’t done this in awhile. Let’s read:

“Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins” (Matt. 1:20b-21).

The immensity of the announcement to Joseph warrants, not my comments, but our pondering. Read the entire week’s gospel. Then retreat to verse one and read the entire chapter. Breathe it in. It is all a gift to you and to me.
